The Beautifying Guild Ministry
The mission of Beautifying Guild Ministry is to:
· Aid in the beautification of the church
· To bring about beauty into the church by way of flowers
· To support the church by annual donations
· To visit and take care of the sick and shut-in within the membership/or the church family
History: The Beautifying Guild Ministry was organized in November 1949 under the leadership of the late Reverend William A. Dennis. The first objective of the ministry included placing fresh flowers in the church every Sunday. At the end of the day, the flowers were distributed to the sick and shut-in members. The first major project was the purchase of three main stained-windows in the old church. The center stained-window is in the wall of the Harold K. Lester Fellowship Hall and was dedicated to the late Reverend H.J. Johnson and family.
Description of activities of the ministry include updating flowers seasonally within the church; Easter Baskets and Christmas gifts to the sick and shut-in within the membership/ or the church family; decorating different areas of the church on holidays and special occasions. Highlighted Events and Activities include In the Garden Spring Tea; Bus Trips, Quarterly Fellowship Outings; Annual Christmas Gathering.
Monthly Meetings: Currently, the Beautifying Guild Ministry meets at the Orchard Knob Baptist Church the 1st Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm.
