
Reverend Carlos D. Williams is a native of Shelby County, Alabama. Currently, he serves as Senior Pastor of The Historic Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee and has held that position since August of 2013. He attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and furthered his studies at the Birmingham-Easonian Baptist Bible College in Birmingham, Alabama where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology and Pastoral Ministry. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Master’s degree in Theological Studies from Faith International University and Seminary of Tacoma, Washington and is a third year student at Virginia University of Lynchburg, Virginia pursuing a Doctorate degree in ministry and will complete it in May of 2021.
He is a frequent lecturer and teacher in the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education and Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. He served as a biblical studies instructor at the Birmingham-Easonian Baptist Bible College in Birmingham, Alabama and served as the extension director of the Bible College in Shelby County, Alabama. He has been in the preaching ministry for 25 years and the pastoral ministry for 21 years. He has pastored congregations in Alabama, Indiana, and Michigan. His ministry also includes traveling nationally as a revivalist and lecturer to various churches around the country across denominational lines.
His greatest experience was traveling to Jerusalem and visiting the Holy Sites. He is married to the former Joannie Holiday and they have 2 sons: Corbin and Kenan. His wife, Joannie, is a native of Alabama. She earned a Bachelors’ in Social Work from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, and is employed with Chattanooga Heart Institute. Their son, Corbin, is a graduate of Chattanooga State Community College and currently a Junior at Middle Tennessee State University. Their youngest son, Kenan, is a third grade student at East Brainerd Elementary School. His philosophy of ministry is to preach and teach the word of God with accuracy, clarity, and integrity by the power of God to the Glory of God
